Departs on request from Nairobi at 0800 Day 1 – Tree hotel in Mount Kenya/Aberdares After your pre-safari briefing in Nairobi drive north through the lush foothills and tea and coffee plantations around the aberdares Mountains and Mount Kenya to your Tree hotel, for a night of watching animals come to the floodlit water hole. This is pure theatre a great way to introduce you to your safari. This area is home of the kikuyu tribe. Overnight options: tree in aberdares or Mount Kenya (LDBB) Day 2 – Samburu/Shaba National Reserve Depart after breakfast and drive into Kenya’s rugged Northeastern region, home of the colorful Samburu tribe, crossing the Equator en route. Arrive at your riverside lodge around noon. In the late afternoon there will be game drive in this park home to all the main animals, as well as some unique ones like the Grevy’s Zebra and Reticulated Giraffe. Also good for river life with crocs and hippos. Lunch, dinner, bed and breakfast at your lodge. Overnight: lodge Shaba/Samburu(LDBB) Accommodation options: Samburu Serena Lodge, Sarova Shaba Lodge or Samburu Lodge Day 3 – Samburu/Shaba National Reserve Early morning and afternoon game drive conducted by our safari guide. Overnight: lodge Shaba/Shamburu (LDBB) Accommodation options: Samburu Serena Lodge, Sarova Shaba Lodge or Samburu Lodge Day 4- Lake Nakuru National Park Depart after breakfast and drive the Great Rift Valley into Lake Nakuru National Park. Afternoon game drives in this compact little park famous for its flamingos and other bird life, and for Leopard, Elephant, Buck and many other species. Overnight: lodge/camp in Lake Nakuru(LDBB) Accommodation options: Mbweha camp, Lion Hill Lodge or Lake Nakuru Lodge Day 5 – Masai Mara Depart after breakfast and continue through the Great Rift Valley and its extinct volcanoes into the land of the famous Masai tribe, and into the wildlife reserve named after them. This is Kenya’s most famous reserve and in your afternoon game drive you will have the opportunity to seek out the “Big Five” Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo, and all other species which have made this reserve so famous. Visit to local Masai village in the afternoon Overnight: lodge/camp in Mara (LDBB) Accommodation options: Mara Serena Lodge, Siana Intrepids Camp or Fig Tree Camp Day 6 - Masai Mara Early morning and afternoon game drives all with superb photographic opportunities to capture the stately Black-manned. Optional balloon ride at dawn (Extra cost) Overnight: lodge/camp in Mara (LDBB) Accommodation options: Mara Serena Lodge, Siana Intrepids Camp or Fig Tree Camp Day 7 - Departure. Depart for Nairobi after breakfast. Stop for lunch at a Nairobi restaurant. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Depending on your departure flight you have the opportunity to engage in optional activities in Nairobi this afternoon. We recommend a visit to Karen Blixen Museum and AFEW Giraffe Center Optional: Dinner will be served at Carnivore Restaurant before transfer to Airport your homebound flight.
