Luxury Gorilla Safari Uganda and Chimpanzee Tracking
Gorilla and Chimpanzee tracking (7 days)
Day 1:
Drive to Kisoro in the early morning South West of Uganda to Mgahinga National Park . You will have lunch in Kabale to continue through a road that takes you through the marvelous landscapes referred to “Switzerland of Africa”. While traveling look out through the window to see mountains, hills with terraces, rainforests and bamboo forests. This journey takes about 9 hours. You will rest, have dinner and spend the night at Travellers Rest Hotel Kisoro.
Day 2:
Go for a whole day Gorilla tracking to check out the Nkuringo group in South Bwindi and Nyakagyezi group in Mgahinga National Park . Tracking gorillas is a tedious activity but observing these giants play, feed and interact erases the poor memories of finding them. Overnight at Travellers Rest Hotel Kisoro
Day 3
Drive to Queen Elizabeth NP after breakfast via Kabale to reach in the afternoon. This journey will take you about 7 hours. You will reach in time for lunch-have lunch and go for a game drive if you want or relax at the lodge to watch the sunset. And also prepare for the next busy day. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge
Day 4
Before dawn and early morning game drive on the northern circuit the Kasenyi Plains to search for game like Leopards, hyenas, white stripped jackal, elephants, Lions, Uganda Kobs, bush bucks, and many more. In the afternoon go for a two hours launch trip on the Kazinga channel to see animals like Hippos, buffaloes, and variety of water birds like the rare shoebill, African kingfisher etc Retire from the boat ride to Mweya Safari Lodge for a night.
Day 5:
Drive to Kibale through the plains of Queen Elizabeth NP to watch game enroute. This journey will take about 4 hours to reach in the afternoon. You will then drive to the crater lakes region to have a good scenery of plenty of craters. Take photographs and then drive to your lodge where you will spend the night. Overnight at Ndali lodge / Mantana tented camp
Day 6:
Have breakfast and then go to the forest to track Chimpanzees, this will take you about 3 and half hours. This walk will reward you with other primates like red tailed monkeys, black and white colobuses, Mangabeys, pottos and many more. After the forest walk transfer to Bigodi Swamp to look out for more faunas and flora. The swamp is also known to be a birders paradise offering variety of bird species. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge / Mantana luxury camp.
Day 7:
Drive back to Kampala . You will have a lunch stop at any hotel of your choice and then proceed to reach in the afternoon. The journey will take you 6 hours. Dinner and overnight at Sheraton Hotel / Serena Hotel .
