Gorilla Trekking Uganda, Bwindi 3 Days Gorilla Safari Uganda

The Impenetrable Forest Reserve was gazetted in 1942, and in upgraded National park in 1992 the word in the local Rukiga language means ‘Impenetrable.’ The park is about 327km2 of tangled vegetation draped over a deeply fissured landscape of steep, slippery valleys and high, draughty ridges. During trekking its easy to negotiate through this steep hills, in search of the endangered Mountain Gorillas.

The temperatures range between 70ºC-200ºC with the coldest period being June and July. Warm clothing is required plus wet weather gear as this place receives up to 2390mm of rain/year. Standing on the altitude of between 1,160 to 2,607m, Uganda Wildlife Authority has opened different groups to eased the problem of Visit who go and adventure packed Gorilla trekking and the groups one can choose include: The Mubare group (‘M’ group) opened in 1993 and consists of 6 members with one sliverback, The Habinyanja group (‘H’ group) opened in 1998 and is composed of 18 individuals with 2 silverbacks, The Rushegura group (‘R’ group) opened in 2002 and composed of 19, The Nkuringo group (‘N’ group) opened in 2004 and is composed of 19 members and one silverback, The Nshongi group opened in September 2009 and composed of 36 individuals with 3 silverbacks, Bitukura group (‘B’ group) opened in December 2008 and is composed of 13 individual, Kyaguriro group (‘K’ group) composed of 17 members.

Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala City – Bwindi Impenetrable National park (the accommodation here is optional depending on the availability of the permits)

After your breakfast at 07:30am, begin panoramic Safari south-word to Bwindi Gorilla Park through the Kigezi Highlands in the beauties of the “Switzerland of Africa”. You will stop for pictures at the Equator, a line that divides the world into two, the safari will allow you to get good shorts of pictures from your window of long Horned cattle, side markets in Lukaya, Lyantonde the famous places for roasted meat and banana know as “Gonja” and fruit market in Mbarara, Lunch shall be served in Mbarara, at Agip Motel. Shall then drive direct to Bwindi forest National Park to arrive late in the evening to your hotel

Overnight at Luxyry Buhoma Homestead Mid range Egagi lodge / (FB) or Budget Buhoma Community Bandas

Day 2: Bwindi At 07:15 you shall be served with breakfast and your guide will lead you to the briefing ground to get the briefing at 8.00am before entry to the forest for gorilla trekking. The guides will then take you through the bush pushing your way through the undergrowth, parting thick creepers to the track the gorillas, When the gorillas are spotted, the guide shall ask you to stand 7 meters away from the apes and your requested that you remove flash light on your camera. The trekking can be tiring, its therefore advisable to carry parked Lunch, bottled water and good jungle boots rain, worm jacket could be require as this is a rain forest any time it could rain. You shall return back exhausted, refreshing at your accommodation for a few hours and later anafternoon guided village walk to learn howthe communities around the Bwindi Park are benefiting from the tourism of the area; this is an ideal short walk. Anumber of different bird species, Bwindi’s colorful array of butterflies, coffee, tea and potato plantations are along this trail. The tour shall be marked ended when you return to you hotel for dinner while you sit with your guide for briefing of the next day program, retiring for overnight later. Day 3 Bwindi – Kampala

Early departure after your breakfast in the morning at 7:00am from Bwindi gorilla National park. Lunch shall be served enroute and just incase you need souvenirs then you will have an opportunity to stop at the Equator to buy some before proceeding to Kampala if you are stay here or to Entebbe to catch your flight back home.
