Itinerary
Day 1: Entebbe – Kampala
Today board your flight to Uganda. Arrival Entebbe: You will be met on arrival at Entebbe International Airport and transferred to your Hotel – accommodation in Kampala at Golf Course hotel Luxury option or Hotel Africana BB
Day 2: Kampala City – Bwindi Impenetrable National park (the accommodation here is optional depending on the availability of the permits)
After your breakfast at 07:30am, begin panoramic Safari south-word to Bwindi Gorilla Park through the Kigezi Highlands in the beauties of the “Switzerland of Africa”. You will stop for pictures at the Equator, a line that divides the world into two, the safari will allow you to get good shorts of pictures from your window of long Horned cattle, side markets in Lukaya, Lyantonde the famous places for roasted meat and banana know as “Gonja” and fruit market in Mbarara, Lunch shall be served in Mbarara, at Agip Motel. Shall then drive direct to Bwindi forest National Park to arrive late in the evening to your hotel, Overnight at Luxury Buhoma Homestead Mid range Egagi lodge / (FB) or Budget Buhoma Community Bandas
Day 3: Bwindi gorilla trekking
At 07:15 you shall be served with breakfast and your guide will lead you to the briefing ground to get the briefing at 8.00am before entry to the forest for gorilla trekking. The guides will then take you through the bush pushing your way through the undergrowth, parting thick creepers to the track the gorillas, When the gorillas are spotted, the guide shall ask you to stand 7 meters away from the apes and your requested that you remove flash light on your camera. The trekking can be tiring, its therefore advisable to carry parked Lunch, bottled water and good jungle boots rain, worm jacket could be require as this is a rain forest any time it could rain. You shall return back exhausted, refreshing at your accommodation for a few hours and later in the afternoon guided village walk to learn how the communities around the Bwindi Park are benefiting from the tourism of the area; this is an ideal short walk. A number of different bird species, Bwindi’s colorful array of butterflies, coffee, tea and potato plantations are along this trail. The tour shall be marked ended when you return to you hotel for dinner while you sit with your guide for briefing of the next day program, retiring for overnight later. Day 4: Bwindi forest National Park – Kibale forest National park
Early departure after your breakfast in the morning at 7:00am from Bwindi gorilla National park to Kibale forest national park via Queen Elizabeth National Park, opportunity to see tree climbing lions and many more antelopes as the drive goes on. Lunch shall be later on arrival in Fort portal town and an afternoon Nature walk to the crater lakes Check in to your hotel for Dinner and overnight at primate Lodge for Luxury option or Mountains of the Moon hotel for medium option or Rwenzori travellers inn for budget option (FB)
Day 5: Kibale National Park
Early morning at 07:15am (if you are to stay in Fort portal town then breakfast is at 06:00am) you will have breakfast then leave to Kibale forest National Park headquarters for briefing before you enter in this beautiful forest for chimpanzee tracking including other primates like the L’hoestes, Colobus, Blues, Red-tailed monkey and grey cheeked Mangabey swinging through the dense forest and several bird species, butterflies and many small insects, can be seen before you return back for lunch. An opportunity to reach Biggodi for a swamp walk the area is run by the community as away to preserve and save animals in the Kibale forest, You shall then return for dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon hotel in Fort portal Town or Primate lodge in Kibale Forest National park (luxury/Medium options) / Rwenzori Travelers Inn in For portal Town or Chimps Nest Lodge in kibale National park for Budget Options (FB)
Day 6: Kibale National Park – Kampala
After your breakfast at 08:00am, If you still have time in the day, a brief visit to the Tooro Kingdoms palace, built on top of the hill attracting views of the Rwenzori ranges and Fort portal town, proceed then to Kampala via Mubende with a lunch stop en route before arriving to Kampala if you are staying here or transfer to catch your flight back home.
